Where is the Stumptown Mattress made?
Each Stumptown mattress is made in Sumner, Washington in the shadow of Mt. Rainier. Not far from Portland and Seattle. Our manufacturer partner is a locally owned, independent mattress-maker known for its commitment to environmental stewardship.
What’s inside the Stumptown Original Mattress?
Multiple layers of American-Made foams including a comfy cooling gel-foam at the surface. Your support comes from a super durable, firm base foam.
What’s inside the Stumptown Hybrid Mattress?
The Stumptown Hybrid is a combination of coils and cooling gel foams. The individual pocket coil system provides sturdy, durable support. Our locally-made coil system means more airflow through your mattress. The American-made gel foam layers provide pressure point relief and the exact amount of “give” you need while not sacrificing on support. Expect cooler nights on the Stumptown Hybrid.
What kind of support does my Stumptown Mattress require?
Both the Stumptown Hybrid and the Original will work well on most traditional support systems including a foundation/box spring, a slatted wood platform bed or a metal platform bed. If you want your mattress close to floor level, we recommend you purchase a 2-inch bunkie board to place under your mattress. We do not recommend placing your new mattress directly onto the floor or onto a solid flat surface. In cooler, wet climates you may experience mold build-up under your mattress. Air circulation under any mattress is important to keep mold and moisture off of your mattress.
Will my new mattress have any odors when I open it?
You may sense a very slight odor when you take the mattress out of the plastic wrap. This is typical of most new products. Any mild odor is considered harmless. We suggest you allow your mattress to sit without sheets for a few hours before you sleep on it for the first time.
Does Stumptown offer financing?
We choose not to offer financing. This keeps costs down for our customers. We gladly accept all major credit cards.

Who will deliver my mattress?

We occasionally work with delivery services like Task Rabbit and others for local deliveries. For all other locations in Washington and nationwide, we use UPS.
How do I return my mattress and what’s the process?
We try to make this as easy as possible. We request that you email us: firstname.lastname@example.org Give us your name, address and receipt number if you still have it. We will work with a local non-profit group or private hauler to arrange pickup of your mattress. Once the pickup is made, the hauler will give you a receipt. We ask that you photograph or scan this receipt and email it to us. Please note: Usually this process can be completed within a few days. However; it may occasionally take up to two weeks (or longer in remote or rural areas) to identify and coordinate with an agency near your home. Once the mattress has been removed from your home we will issue a full refund. For security purposes, refunds can only be made to the original credit card used for the purchase. We may call or email to verify certain credit card security actions before issuing the refund. Credit card companies can take up to 10 days to credit back your account for refunds. Please read the complete terms and conditions before you check out!
How does the Stumptown Mattress warranty work?
Sleep hard knowing that Stumptown mattress has a 10 year warranty. We’ve got your covered! We can usually manage warranties quickly and painlessly if something goes wrong.
If something goes wrong within 10 years of your purchase, we will gladly replace your mattress – naturally certain conditions apply! The warranty will only cover true manufacturer defects which occur during normal use of your mattress. Some common areas covered include: compression in the foam up to 1 and ½ inches or a tear in a seam/ fabric that tears due to a defect in stitching. If you have a warranty claim, we may ask you to send us photos that show us the manufacturing defect. Again, a warranty covers a true defect in manufacturing. Some additional conditions: Warranties are not transferable. Only the original purchaser of the mattress is eligible for a warranty mattress replacement. Your mattress must not have stains and strong odors in order for us to pick up your mattress and donate it to a needy family.
To file a warranty claim please email us: email@example.com
Can the Stumptown Mattress fit into a bunk bed?
The Stumptown Mattress has a 10 inch profile. At 10 inches high it’s probably too big for the typical child’s bunkbed. Sorry about that!!
How does the Stumptown keep you cool at night?
The Stumptown Mattress is classified as a cool memory foam mattress. However; it’s far from the old-time memory foams that are known to sleep so hot. The Stumptown’s top layer is medical gel infused designed to absorb and displace the heat derived from your body, keeping you comfortable through the night. The gel infused foam brings instant relief to your pressure points. And it keep the temperature of the foam mattress neutral and comfy all night long.
